Quartz Countertop Care & Maintenance
Quartz countertops are a beautiful, lustrous choice for any home. Whether you have quartz bathroom counters or kitchen countertops, you've made an elegant choice. Not only do quartz countertops look fabulous, they're also easy to care for. Here's what you need to knowabout caring for your quartz countertops. Home builders often specify quartz countertops because they have the look of custom granite kitchen countertops and they're low maintenance. Unlike natural stone counters, quartz counters do not need to be sealed. This has to do with the difference in how granite and quartz countertops are made. Quartz bath and kitchen countertops are made from natural stone, too. However, quartz is combined with polyester resins and pigments in a factory to form 'engineered' countertops. Theresins and quartz harden into a non-porous, low-maintenance surface. Caring for your newly installed quartz countertops is as simple as:
Regular cleaning should be done with a mild soap or detergent and a soft cloth. Make sure thesoap is non-bleach and non-abrasive.
Although stain resistant, Quartz countertops are not stain proof. Wipe up liquids as soonas possible. Quartz will resist stains for a short period of time, but all colored liquids should becleaned up promptly
A glass or surface cleaner, such as Windex or any special stone cleaner, can be used for heavyor dried on stains. Use a non-abrasive sponge. For deep cleaning, spray a generous amount; leaveon for ten minutes, then wipe away.If it is a rust stain,we suggest to use the professional rust remover for stone countertops
Scrape away grease, gum, and paint with a plastic putty knife or razor blade. Use a degreasingcleanser, formulated for Quartz countertops, to clean off grease. Rinse away immediately.
Remove ink or permanent markers carefully with an oil-based cleaner, like Goo Gone. Rinsewith warm water immediately after the stain is removed.Heavy, stuck on, hard to remove stains such as nail polish can be removed with a mixture of acetone, Ajax, and water. Dilute the Ajax to the point of minimal abrasiveness. Wipe awayimmediately.
Use hot pads or trivets for pans, crockpots, and electric skillets. Quartz can resist temperatures up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit, but it can be damaged by quick changes in temperature. Alsoknown as “thermal shock.”

Avoid cleaning with highly acidic or alkaline cleaners, such as nail polish remover, turpentine, oven cleaner, bleach, drain cleaners, dishwasher rinsing agents, etc. Clean immediately witha mild detergent and rinse, if they are spilled.Avoid pressure or force on your countertops, such as dropping a heavy pot, as it can chipor crack the stone.
When it comes to bathroom and kitchen countertops, homeowners with quartz countertops don't have to spend much time labouring over cleaning. With their multicoloured patterns, quartz countertops tends to hide crumbs and water droplets so they always look great even whenyou haven't had a chance to wipe them down. Though they always look good, get into the habit of regularly wiping your counters. Doing so will keep them sparkling and reduce the amount of time you need to spend on heavier cleaning.
